Aliza Rudavsky, DPT, Ph.D.
A native of Pittsburgh, Aliza grew up as a dancer. She studied modern dance in college and performed professionally for several years before going to graduate school for her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Washington in Seattle. Aliza has specialized training in treating women's pelvic health and researches pelvic floor biomechanics in the department of Kinesiology at Penn State where she is an Assistant Research Professor. Aliza has expertise in treating dancers and also completed her Ph.D. at the University of Copenhagen researching tendon development in dancers at the Australian Ballet School. Aliza also provides unique treatment to singers and professional voice users through laryngeal manual therapy. She co-teaches voice manual therapy courses to licensed health providers through Amplified Voice Manual Therapy. In addition to doing research at PSU, Aliza runs an on-site PT clinic for the musical theatre and acting students in the School of Theatre at PSU.
Aliza has three children and she enjoys contact improvisation dance, experimental cooking with her husband in their backyard pizza-oven, biking, hiking and traveling.
